Assessor's Office Sets Record For Historic Transfer Tax Revenue Collections

ASSESSOR'S OFFICE SETS RECORD FOR HISTORIC

TRANSFER TAX REVENUE COLLECTIONS

 

SAN FRANCISCO – Transfer tax is collected when land or real property is transferred to new ownership.  This April, Assessor Carmen Chu announces transfer tax revenue collected by her Office has surpassed historic high levels set previously in FY14-15.  Per the Controller’s Nine-Month Report, transfer tax is expected to reach $400 million by year-end, outperforming the original expected budget of $235 million.
