$411 MILLION IN SF TRANSFER TAX COLLECTION

74% of total revenue generated from sales over $10 million

SAN FRANCISCO – Transfer tax is collected when land or real property is transferred to new ownership.  This August, Assessor Carmen Chu announces transfer tax revenue collected by her Office has reached historic high.  As expected, $411 million was collected in transfer tax by year-end, outperforming the original expected budget of $235 million.
